Hindustan Zinc Publishes 1st Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Zinc Products

Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company publishes the 1^st Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of their Zinc product thus reinforcing its commitment to the sustainability, transparency, and minimizing environmental footprint. Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of products.The company through its sustainable business practices is providing long-term value for our stakeholders, communities, and the environment.

EPD provides objective, comparable, and third-party verified data on the environmental performance of its products throughout their lifecycle. Hindustan Zinc’s EPD can be compared to EPDs from other manufacturers around the world, as it complies with ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 standards. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study carried out to develop the EPD for Zinc products in line with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards.  The life cycle assessment (LCA) in the EPD provides a holistic approach measuring the environmental performance of Zinc product by considering the potential impacts from all stages of manufacturing, product use and end-of-life stages.

As a result of publishing an EPD complied with international standards, Hindustan Zinc is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and providing customers with credible and transparent information about its products’ environmental performance.
