Hindustan Zinc recognized as Supplier Engagement Leader by CDP

Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc has been recognized as Supplier Engagement Leader by global environmental not-for-profit charity CDP. The company has been ranked among the top 8% assessed for supplier engagement on climate change. The recognition is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment towards sustainability and its efforts to engage with suppliers to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change. 

On this achievement, Mr. Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc said, “It is a matter of pride for us to be recognized by CDP as a global leader for having a positive influence on building a sustainable supply chain and the ongoing progress we have made has been appraised. CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to assess these companies, allocating a score of A to D- based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets.

Hindustan Zinc’s supplier engagement emphasizes on building relationships with suppliers and partnering with them to identify opportunities for improvement in their sustainability practices. The company is constantly working towards their Sustainability Development Goals 2025 which targets at reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable alternative throughout its operations and supply chain. Recently, Hindustan Zinc has earned a spot in the esteemed S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the 6th time and ranked amongst the top 5% ESG Score in the metals & mining sector in 2023. The company’s sustainability efforts have also resulted them to be ranked 3rd Globally and 1st in Asia Pacific Region in S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment under metal & mining sector. The company has also been rated A in climate change and A- in water security by CDP.
