Dr Mohit Goyal honoured with the highest honour for young rheumatologists in the India

Udaipur : Dr. Mohit Goyal, a prominent rheumatologist from Udaipur, Rajasthan, has been honored with the prestigious Indian Rheumatology Association (IRA) Young Rheumatologist Oration. This award, given to a rheumatologist under the age of 40, recognizes his exceptional and early contributions to the field and is the highest award given to a young rheumatologist in India.
Dr. Goyal is the first rheumatologist from Rajasthan to receive this recognition, a testament to his remarkable career trajectory at a young age. He delivered the oration and was conferred with the award at the national conference of the Indian Rheumatology Association – IRACON 2025 held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi from 9th to 12th October.
Since establishing the first dedicated clinic and rheumatology services in South Rajasthan in 2017, Dr. Goyal has become a leading figure in Indian rheumatology. His dedication to research has led to numerous publications in top-tier international and Indian journals, including Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, The Lancet Rheumatology, and Rheumatology (Oxford). His articles have been cited in esteemed publications like Nature, The Lancet, and NEJM, solidifying his position as one of the country’s top researchers. The areas of his published and ongoing research include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Interstitial Lung Disease and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.
Dr. Goyal’s influence extends to medical publishing, where he is a respected editor and educator. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Indian Journal of Rheumatology (IJR) and the Journal of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (JRCPE). He has been a faculty member for numerous workshops on scientific writing and publishing across the country, mentoring a new generation of medical professionals.
His significant contributions have also been recognized through his roles on the scientific committees of major rheumatology conferences.
Dr. Goyal’s multifaceted contributions as a clinician, researcher, educator, and editor have cemented his place as a leading young voice in rheumatology.
