- Hindustan Zinc introduces advanced tele-remote drilling at Rajpura Dariba Mine, strengthening smart, digitally enabled underground operations
- Technology enables surface-controlled drilling across 600+ meters, delivering ~60 m/hour performance and an expected ~17% productivity improvement
- Proven deployment at world-class Sindesar Khurd and Rampura Agucha mines now scaled to Rajpura Dariba Mine, reinforcing Hindustan Zinc’s leadership in next-generation mining technologies
Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc Limited (BSE: 500188 | NSE: HINDZINC),India’s only and the world’s largest integrated zinc producerhas deployed an advanced tele-remote drilling system at its Rajpura Dariba mine in Rajasthan, as part of its push toward digitally enabled and highly automated underground operations. The system allows engineers to operate drilling equipment remotely from the surface with real-time precision, improving safety and efficiency. Currently effective over a range of 600 metres, scalable up to 800 metres, the technology delivers drilling speeds of around 60 metres per hour.

Enabled by strong wireless connectivity, it ensures continuous drilling across shifts, improving utilization and efficiency, with an overall productivity gain of ~17%.
This technology has already been successfully implementedat Hindustan Zinc’sworld’s fourth most silver producing mine -Sindesar Khurd and Rampura Agucha Mine, where it has delivered strong results in improving safety, equipment utilization, and production efficiency.
Commenting on the progress, Arun Misra, CEO and Whole-Time Director, Hindustan Zinc, said, “The deployment of tele-remote system at Rajpura Dariba highlights our focus on creating intelligent, future-ready mining systems powered by automation and digital innovation. By integrating advanced technologies across our operations, we are enhancing performance, reliability, and sustainability while setting new benchmarks for the mining industry in India.”
