Udaipur : Cricket fans are in for a spectacular treat as legendary stars from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Qatar, UAE, and Afghanistan prepare to compete in the highly anticipated Asian Legends League 2025, kicking off on March 10. This grand tournament is a remarkable gift to cricket enthusiasts in Nathdwara, Udaipur, and Rajsamand. During a press conference held at the Madan Paliwal Miraj Sports Center in Nathdwara, the tournament’s official announcement unveiled comprehensive preparations for this exhilarating T20 event. From March 10 to March 18, top Asian players will vie for supremacy in this thrilling tournament.
At the press conference, League Commissioner and former BCCI selector Chetan Sharma, Miraj Group Vice Chairman Mantraraj Paliwal, MPMSC representative Laxman Diwan, League CEO Mahavir Prasad Sharma, and EMCL Founder & League Organiser Ravi Kumar Yadav shared key details about the event. They also revealed the five participating teams along with their iconic players for the season.
Chetan Sharma emphasised that the Asian Legends League is a unique tournament where some of Asia’s biggest cricketing icons will once again battle it out on the field. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan will represent the Indian Royals as their icon player, while the Sri Lanka Lions have signed all-rounder Thisara Perera. Afghanistan Pathans will be led by former Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan, Bangladesh Tigers will feature Mohammad Ashraful, and the Asian Stars have appointed Abdul Shakoor as their icon player.
This nine-day tournament will feature 15 action-packed matches, all broadcast live on Star Sports.
Speaking about the event, Mantraraj Paliwal highlighted that the tournament would create significant opportunities for Nathdwara. For the first time, an international cricket league will be hosted in the sacred town of Shrinath Ji, making it an unforgettable experience for sports lovers. Extensive preparations are underway to ensure that the March 10 opening night is a spectacular affair.
The grand opening ceremony will showcase renowned Bollywood celebrities, singers, and actors, complemented by a breathtaking fireworks display, a dazzling light show, over 100 dancers, and an extraordinary drone performance, setting the stage for this prestigious event. Cricket enthusiasts will also have the chance to witness their favourite legends, including Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag, and Yusuf Pathan, in live action. The Asian Legends League 2025 promises to be a historic and electrifying cricketing spectacle, bringing together some of Asia’s finest players for an unforgettable showdown.
