Nestlé India’s Project Jagriti completes seven years of encouraging healthy living across India.

Udaipur : Nestlé India in association with MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Childcompletes seven years of Project Jagriti, an initiative touching the lives of around 8.4 million beneficiaries across 8 states/ union territories. The programme was rolled out in 2015 and has been reaching out to vulnerable communities to create awareness onhealth, nutrition and hygiene practices.

To commemorate this milestone and highlight seven years of community services and empowerment, a ‘Jagriti 7kaSaath’ event was organized and brought together different stakeholders. At the event, the project beneficiaries shared their stories of transformation. The dignitaries and beneficiaries also released the ‘JagritiPustak’, highlighting the impact and intervention made by the project so far.

Speaking on the occasion of completing seven years, Mr. Sanjay Khajuria, Director – Corporate Affairs, Nestlé India said, “Over the years, Project Jagriti has continued to focus on creating an enabling environment for the best health outcomes, while colloborating with the public health system as well as stakeholders from the community.The behaviour change that this programme has brought about is encouraging and we will continue working towards enabling healthier lives as we embark on the next phase of our journey of community transformation.’’

My best wishes to the team for their upcoming initiatives to strengthen community development for enhancing health through empowerment and improved access to services in the country.”

In Rajasthan, across the districts of Churu and SriGanganagar, Project Jagriti has reached out to over two million beneficiaries. Various local activities including the use of mobile application among adolescents, wall painting on maternal nutrition and breastfeeding, weekly trainings on iron folic acid supplementation for school teachers among others have been conducted to create an impact.The initative now expands to Dholpur and Hanumangarh districts.
