Rajasthan gets a Healthcare Upgrade

Udaipur : Online Chikitsa Mitra (OCM), a pioneering telemedicine-driven rural health-tech start-up, is excited to announce its expansion into Rajasthan. This strategic move will see the establishment of new e-clinics in Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Mount Abu, Bikaner and Jaisalmer, marking a significant advancement in enhancing healthcare access across these key regions.

Rajasthan has long faced challenges with healthcare access, reflected in its 2019-20 health index score of 41.33, well below Kerala’s top-ranked 82.20. This leaves many residents facing substantial barriers to receiving quality medical care. OCM’s expansion aims to address this critical issue by delivering expert healthcare directly to underserved communities through telemedicine. The start-up’s innovative model connects individuals in remote areas with specialist doctors through a network of e-clinics established within local medical stores. Trained store owners manage teleconsultations using OCM’s cutting-edge digital platform, ensuring that patients can receive timely and expert care without the need for long journeys to distant hospitals, which can be over 50 kilometers away.

Commenting on the expansion,Smriti Tandon, Co-founder, Online Chikitsa Mitra said, “Rajasthan, India’s largest state, faces urgent healthcare challenges which disproportionately impact women and children such as malnutrition, infant mortality, and anemia. We are committed to tackling these pressing issues head-on by expanding our services to provide affordable and accessible care. Our innovative model delivers specialist medical advice, follow-up care, and comprehensive treatment to the most underserved areas, greatly improving the health and well-being of the state’s most vulnerable communities.”

This expansion is a key part of OCM’s broader mission to establish 100 new e-clinics across India, aiming to democratize access to high-quality healthcare and make it a reality for all. By offering a cost-effective and innovative solution starting at as low as Rs. 50, OCM is set to make a profound and lasting impact on healthcare accessibility in both urban and rural communities throughout Rajasthan.
