Udaipur : The 11th Convocation Ceremony of Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) took place on Monday, November 8, 2024, honoring the graduating class of 2024 with a magnificent celebration marked by enthusiasm, pride, and tradition. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Nidhipati Singhania, Honourable Chairperson of the University, while Prof. Ved Prakash, Former Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), graced the occasion as Chief Guest, delivering an inspiring address focused on the importance of quality education and outcome-based learning in higher education.
In a moving moment, three distinguished Guests of Honour— Annu Kapoor, renowned film and television actor; Sunil Shastri, respected politician and social activist; and Dilip Kumar Tirkey, former captain of the Indian hockey team—were awarded the Honoris Causa for their invaluable contributions to their respective fields.
Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement Ltd., and Col. (Dr.) Sanjay Sinha, Vice President & Head of Education at JK Cement Ltd., were among the esteemed dignitaries attending the event. Their presence highlighted the university’s strong ties with industry leaders and commitment to advancing education.
In his convocation address, Prof. (Dr.) Prithvi Yadav, President of SPSU, underscored the university’s strategic partnerships with industry and international collaborations, both of which have propelled SPSU’s reputation. He celebrated the institution’s achievements in research, rankings, and the establishment of Centers of Excellence, while also acknowledging major events like the YP Singhania Memorial Lecture, Sangyaan orientation programme, and a vibrant array of cultural and sports activities that have enriched the campus experience.
The ceremony saw degrees conferred upon students from the School of Engineering and Management. Among the shining stars was Jayant Singh Jhala from the B.Tech (CSE) program, awarded the Chairperson’s Gold Medal. The prestigious President’s Medal was presented to Syed Afroz Hussain (M.Tech in Mining Engineering), Jayant Singh Jhala (B.Tech in CSE), Raashida Attari (MBA), and Priya Choudhary (BBA) for their exemplary academic achievements.
The convocation was attended by the Registrar, Deans, Deputy Deans, Faculty, eminent personalities from across the country, and members of the media. The event symbolized the culmination of the students’ academic journeys and the beginning of their paths as professionals and leaders, embodying the values and excellence nurtured by SPSU.
