Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc Limited (NSE: HINDZINC), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top ten global silver producers, announced a key milestone. Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter (CLZS) achieved Zinc Mark validation, becoming the first site in India to be assessed as meeting the Zinc Mark Criteria under the Copper Mark Assurance Process. This recognition follows a comprehensive review of CLZS’s Independent Assessment Report by The Copper Mark, which confirmed the competence of the independent assessors and validated that the assessment process and findings were conducted in line with the Copper Mark Assurance Process and Criteria Guide.


The outcome reflects CLZS’s consistent implementation of robust policies and responsible operating practices aligned with globally benchmarked environmental, social, and governance standards.
The Zinc Mark, governed by The Copper Mark, is an internationally recognized assurance framework that independently assesses site‑level performance against robust environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. These include benchmarks across emissions, energy and water efficiency, waste management, bio-diversity management,worker safety, human rights,stakeholder engagementsand ethical business practices. The achievement comes amid growing global emphasis on responsible sourcing and traceability. As demand for responsibly produced metals continues to rise, driven by theglobal energy transition and infrastructure development, Zinc Mark validationreinforces CLZS’s credibility as a responsible contributor to the manufacturing ecosystem.
