Udaipur : Daikin Air-conditioning India Pvt Ltd., inaugurated – Daikin Japanese Institute of Manufacturing Excellence (DJIME) at Neemrana, Rajasthan as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility vision.
DJIME aims to offer a training program for “students” that consists of a combined curriculum with on-the-job training, HVAC technical knowhow, soft-skills training & Japanese manufacturing processes training, through their tenure. All trainees will receive the DJIME certification upon completion of this program. It is our aim to certify 1, 50,000 Indian youth by 2025 on Japanese manufacturing methodology & principles that can help the HVAC industry win over the skill shortage.
The Daikin India-JIM marks the start of collaboration between the Governments of Japan and India to create a pool of skilled manpower for manufacturing in India. This follows from a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed in Tokyo on November 11th 2016 between Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Government of Japan (METI) and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India (MSDE), for a “Manufacturing Skill Transfer Promotion Programme” to train 30,000 youths in India over 10 years.
Commenting on the DJIME inauguration, Mr. K J Jawa, Chairman & MD, Daikin India said that this skilling campus is aimed at upgrading the training across Air Conditioning to international standards. We at Daikin are committed towards excellence in technology and quality; and this initiative will provide a platform to these students to enhance their skills and get access to world class training in Air-conditioning space. Having identified skill development as a challenge in India, Daikin is at the fore-front with government & educational institutions to boost ‘societal development through skilling’ and encourage ‘women inclusion in workforce’ through DJIME.
