Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc, one of the largest integrated producers of zinc, lead, and silver, organized a 3-day session on organ donation from 25th–27thJuly, 2023, in Ajmer, in collaboration with Organ India, a prominent non-profit organization advocating for organ donation. The session educated the community about the critical need for and importance of organ donation while busting some myths related to this live-saving cause.
These three-day sessions successfully reached more than 750 people, including students from 8 government schools, women associated with the Sakhi Program as part of Self-help groups (SHGs), and trainees from Zinc Kaushal Kendra, Kayad.
These informative sessions were conducted by Dr. Sourabh Sharma, Manager-programs and outreach at ORGAN INDIA, who engaged the participants through interactive discussions. The emphasis was led on dispelling common misconceptions and presenting inspiring examples of successful organ transplants from Rajasthan.
Moving forward, both organizations are committed to continuing their efforts to promote health in schools and the community, with a shared vision of a healthier and more prosperous society.
